CREATIVE SITES (WORD CLOUDS, CANVA, ETC.)

Add some flair to your project with some of the creative sites:

**Canva** (for brochures, posters, etc.) Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool. Use it to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, logos and more. Be sure to select "free" options when designing your project...and see Printing Tips when using Canva.
**Word It Out** (for Word Clouds with Extras) WordItOut helps you generate word clouds unlike many others. First, it has emoji support, which greatly expands your creative possibilities. Second, you can input phrases using the ~ symbol. This generator automatically changes “Pizza~Hut” to “Pizza Hut” in the finished cloud. Third, you can tweak the colors of individual words, frequency, rank, and more. Other generators listed here support one or two of these options, but (so far) WordItOut is the only one with all three. The flexibility makes this one fun to play with!!

Word Cloud Plus (for Word Clouds with Some Extras)
Bensound (for Royalty-Free Music) This platform provides royalty-free music for videos searchable by tags and genre. All of the MP3 audio files are free to use with attribution. Bensound assures that their music is copyright-safe, so if you plan to upload your presentation to YouTube or other platforms, you are free to do so. Paid accounts are available to receive certain benefits such as unlimited downloads, usage for digital paid advertising or making songs. While these are great perks, they most likely aren’t necessary for a presentation, so the free account will work just fine.

FREE IMAGES

As responsible citizens, we should all be concerned about copyright. Images (photos, clipar, logos, etc.) carry the same copyright regulations as the written word. Luckily, there are many high quality pictures that can be used in school projects without any licensing concerns. These can include images that are released under creative commons, or are in the public domain, or are simply copyright-free.

Keep in mind that regardless of copyright, some teachers may still require you to cite where the image came from to provide proper attribution, which is good practice and is a standard requirement at the college and career level. So it would be wise of you to know the originating source of an image.

Here are some sites and tools for free photos, clipart, icons, and more:

Unsplash All photos published on Unsplash can be used for free. You can use them for commercial and noncommercial purposes. You do not need to ask permission from or provide credit to the photographer or Unsplash.
Pixabay Creative Commons CC0. You are free to adapt and use them for commercial purposes without attributing the original author or source.
Pexels Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. The pictures are free for personal and even for commercial use. You can modify, copy and distribute the photos without asking for permission or setting a link to the source. Attribution is not required.
Vecteezy Vecteezy is a great site for stock photos, vector graphics, and more. Basic features are free but include ads and limitations. Only use free images.
Iconmonstr Iconmonstr - free, monstrously big and continuously growing source of simple icons run by one creator.
