READING - FOR INDEPENDENT ASSIGNMENTS & FOR ENJOYMENT: HOME

This guide is intended to assist students with making an independent reading selection for a class.

MRS. FRECH-OMMENDATIONS

Those who read on frequent basis often have their favorite ways of exploring what to read next, while other readers aren't sure where to go and welcome suggestions.

If you are interested in reading recommendations, feel free to have fun and explore the main tabs on this LibGuide.

Once you find something that catches your interest, go to the PADUA LIBRARY tab to access Padua's Catalog to see if we have it. Keep in mind that Padua is a smaller Library, so I only carry popular reads for our students; however, if Padua doesn't carry the title you are personally seeking, don't worry. Even if Padua does not carry a particular book, you can check out the public library links for a print or e-copy. Keep in mind that the Padua Library accepts and encourages book title requests: MyPad > Groups > Padua Library > Quick Links > Make a Book Request (or just gmail me or stop up to see me in the Library). One way or another, we'll find that book!!

Email or stop up to see me if you need any help locating a particular title.

ACCESSING LIBGUIDES:

Access LibGuides, Padua Databases, and the Padua Library Catalog at home or from anywhere outside of Padua via computer or any mobile device by doing any of the following:

  • MyPad > Groups > Padua Library
  • PaduaFranciscan.com > Academics > Library
  • Google "Padua LibGuides" in search engine (just make you select our school).

DATABASE USERNAMES & PASSWORDS:

You will most likely need Usernames/Passwords for Padua's "DATABASES" when accessing them anywhere outside of Padua, which I cannot publicly share on this page, so find the Passwords/Usernames by doing the following:

  • MyPad > Group > Padua Library > Quicklinks > Database Passwords
  • Note: You can save the PW Chart to your Google Drive if you would like.
