This guide is provided by the Padua Library to assist with Digital Learning needs and to offer calming and welcome distractions to pass the time.

Digital Distractions

Here are some links to sites to keep you happily distracted when you're not doing schoolwork...and just need a break. Be sure to take walks, FaceTime friends and family, play games, get exercise, and have some fun!!! I will keep update this site daily as new sites come become available. So calm down...and get distracted (in a good way!!!!).

Ideas for Things To Do

The key to avoiding anxiety is VARIETY!!!! So be sure to try different things on different days in between schoolwork/work.

  • Josh Gad (Olaf from Frozen) reads books every weeknight (times vary but you can also watch the recorded videos)  on Twitter - #GadBookClub
  • Drawing with Michael Woodside - learn to draw Disney Characters - live streamed on YouTube and Instagram  daily at 10:00 am - #drawingwithwoodsy (videos are also recorded).
  • Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems - draw with author and illustrator Mo Willems daily on YouTube at 12:00 pm #MOlunchdoodles. (videos are also recorded).  For more information go to: https://www.kennedy-center.org/mowillems
  • Deb's Virtual Art School - Artist Deborah Putnoi does lessons on Facebook daily at 1:00 pm https://www.facebook.com/TheDrawingMind (videos are also recorded).
  • Read a book (check out the Public Libraries tab above for digital/online options).
  • Play a real board game.
  • Play fun online games.
  • Take a solo (or socially distanced) walk in one of Northeast Ohio's Popular Hiking Areas
  • Video games (but be sure to do other things, too).
  • Do Sudoku or Crossword puzzles.
  • Work on a Jigsaw Puzzle.
  • Do Word Searches.
  • Exercise.
  • Do yoga or meditate.
  • Color in adult coloring books.
  • Do a Paint-by-Number.
  • Do any craft.
  • Hit up Pinterest for crafting ideas.
  • Organize your closet.
  • Organize your desk.
  • Start a journal or diary (at least to complete through "The Quarantine" so you have a record to share when this is just story we tell!!!!).
  • Plan your dream vacation.
  • Go on virtual tours or follow live cams to get out without getting out (see above links for some great ones).
  • Take walks.
  • Camp in your own backyard.
