*** TESTING HELP *** IMPROVING STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES (AP EXAMS, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and more...): Print & E- Resources in the Padua Library

This LibGuide will guide students in ways to build on and improve on their standardized test scores (such as the ACT, SAT, PSAT, etc.). The LibGuide will also guide parents & teachers in ways they can help students as well.

PRINT RESOURCES IN THE LIBRARY

Would you prefer a Practice Test booklet? We have many up-to-date guides & practice test booklets in the Padua Library, and they can be taken out overnight (or for the weekend). Mrs. Frech can help you find specific resources, but if you'd like to browse for yourself, most of the resources that our students like and prefer can be found on the shelves at the front of the Library in COLLEGE CORNER. Check it out!!!!

***Quickest/Easiest Way to Access a Resource List***

  1. Resource Lists are lists of resources that are available in the Padua Library for particular subject area, class assignment, etc.
  2. Once you are in the Destiny Catalog (see above), click on the RESOURCE LISTS tab (which can be found on the tabs to the left of the screen).
  3. To access PUBLIC LISTS (lists that have been created for you by the Padua Librarian), you must click on PUBLIC LISTS (which can be found on the tab in the upper right-hand corner of this screen).
  4. Then click on VIEW next to the particular Public List that you wish to view. A resource list has been created for this LibGuide called LIB: Test Prep Resources.
  5. A list of tagged resources will come up for you (please be aware that there may be multiple pages).
  6. You can click on a title to see various pieces of information such as the following:  summary of content, page count, the title's call number, whether or not that title is presently available, etc.
  7. If you would like the resource, write down the item's Title & Call# and the Librarian will help you find the item(s) in the Padua Library. (Note: If the item is an e-book, you can just open it or check it out directly. See more info below.)
  8. NOTE: There is a way to create your own Private Resource List if you would like. If you are interested in finding out more about that, see Mrs. Frech.

Additional Information on E-Resources in Destiny Catalog

  1. You can typically open an e-resource right from the Padua Destiny Library catalog and read it on a Chromebook/computer. If you'd like to read it on another device (like an ipad, etc.), however, you would need to actually download/check out the item. To do this, you will be prompted to login. The login area is found in the upper right-hand corner of the search page. Login using your NetClassroom username and password (once you sign on correctly, your name will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the catalog search page).
  2. Now you can download your e-resource.
  3. Be sure you also have the app needed to read the resource.
